There is a bike rental company in Marjan park that rents bikes in Split for $3/hour for daytime rentals. And most of the tourist agencies in town rent bicycles for multiple days.

I talk about renting bikes in Marjan here: http://www.pondjumperscroatia.com/split
I put together this advice for people coming to Split on cruise ships, but it is applicable to anyone visiting.

There are many tourist agencies in town. And I haven’t head anything bad about any of them. One I can recommend is Dalmatia Events. (Mario Tomasovic, mario.tomasovic@dalmatia-events.com). Mario has lived in Split his entire life and recently graduated from Tourism school here so he has lots of knowledge. (full disclosure – I am friends with Mario. So I know first hand how knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly he is. Plus his English is perfect.)

Croatia is great for bike riding – I think you would love it. Let me know if you make the trip.

As a parent, I particularly liked reading about your family’s recent visit. A friend and I (we are in our 70’s) go bicycling every fall in Europe. Is it possible to rent bikes (and helmets) in Split. We thought it would be fun to cycle around the islands. Best wishes to you and Jay.

It was lovely to meet your family, and thanks for the peka dinner treat ๐Ÿ™‚ You’ve seen some beautiful places here in Croatia, and I sure hope I can show one more, the island of VIS…. the bays there and especially Srebna Uvala just take my breath away… and we should coincide with the Croatian Cricket team playing in a field amongst the vineyard… and the absolute best peka in Croatia at the after-match dinner ๐Ÿ™‚

I also was thinking how lucky we are that you ended up in such a beautiful country. If you was not in Split, I would have never experience visiting such a beautiful country. I will always remember my 2 visits to Split to see you and Jay. I enjoyed every minute that I spend in Split. The National Parks, the beautiful towns, ferry rides, the bakeries are just a few items that I always will member. I am so happy that you and Jay have the opportunity to live abroad. I also miss both of you but you were both smart to live abroad while you are young. I am also happy that Kevin got to see you and Jay in such a beautiful country. I know Kevin enyoyed see KrKa National Park and the soccer game. Keep on writing and posting pictures.

I absolutely loved the whole story of what we did each day. The pictures you posted with the blog were amazing. I know what you mean when you say “…there is something special about getting to share it in person with the ones you love.” I was so thrilled to be able to spend time with Jay, Kelly, Kevin, and Kelly’s dad in such exciting surroundings. But, I still look forward to you coming home so I can share my experiences here at home. Can’t wait for you to see our roses blooming–guess I will have to wait ๐Ÿ™‚
